Millesime 2012, Note Parker 91

"The 2012 Shiraz Kayoumi Vineyard has 2% Viognier, a nod to the Northern Rhône. It was aged for 15 months in French oak (40% new) and comes in at 14.5% alcohol. Lively and fresh, but not showing much concentration, this does show two things prominently: plenty of power and lots of freshness. It has a bright, crisp feel and a cleaner nose than I've sometimes seen here. Precise and penetrating on the finish, this tightly-wound Shiraz is all Northern Rhône in style. Overall, this could use another year or two in the cellar for best results, but give it some air if you pop it now. It will be interesting to see what happens with it. It should age well. It might well be my pick of Carmel's reds this issue just on pure quality. Noting the reasonable price point, it's an even easier decision to make this the pick." Wine Advocate
